Desaparecidos Resurrected! - Conor Oberst
If you have not already heard, Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes has resurrected his 2001-2002 band Desaparecidos. Personally I am ecstatic to hear something that is not folky rock but more gritty, lo-fi, garage rock. Unlike his solo efforts, Bright Eyes, and Monsters of Folk, Desparecidos packs a lot of energy and engages the listener to, do I dare say it, head bump. Desaparecidos will be doing a short tour mostly on the west coast. That is a HUGE disappointment for all the Midwest and East Coast fans.
Below is one of the two new songs Desaparecidos have been playing, “Left is Right.” The quality is not that great but man can you feel the intensity their music brings.
And of course from Read Music/ Speak Spanish, “Manana”
"Conor Oberst, Ron Sexsmith Pay Tribute To Leonard Cohen" by NPR
Check out the above link and listen to all things considered as Conor Oberst and Ron Sexsmith talk about Leonard Cohen. It’s good stuff.
Old Ideas is Cohen’s current album, which was released in late January.

I will always be a Conor Oberst fan. He has consistently spits out good music for the last 5 years. It must be the poetry he produces in his lyrics
One day I hope to see him play in Omaha, Nebraska. That would probably blow my mind. Until then I will enjoy a recent secret show played in late January.

Check out this track from the upcoming album The Lion’s Roar by First Aid Kit. The track is titled “King of the World” and it features Conor Oberst.
“King of the World” is a great song with heavy folk influence and powerful vocals. It’s very enjoyable.
Personal Note: CONOR OBERST
I won’t deny, I love Conor Oberst. I will keep collecting his stuff until my collection is complete. Unfortunately I’m missing some hard to find albums and in my opinion MUST HAVES: 1. There Is No Beginning to the Story EP, 2. Motion Sickness: Live Recordings, 3. LUA EP 4. Oh Holy Fools: The Music of Son, Ambulance & Bright Eyes.
Does anyone have them in their collection OR know where I can buy them?
I know there are more in the Conor Collection like splits/collaborations but the above would really complete the collection.
