FREE MUSIC: ALIEN HOUSE
I haven’t done some free music in awhile. Alienhouse is a bunch of noise really but an agreeable noise full of effects, electronic percussion, and guitar that lets you delve into a lazed soundscape. This free 6-track album is a nicely done, mostly instrumental type narrative. According to their facebook they will be releasing a full length album “before the world ends,” which means you can expect some enticing tracks from them before the end of 2012.
The Yellow Ostrich - NEW MP3 DOWNLOAD
I saw The Yellow Ostrich twice during ACL last year. Despite playing the early morning show they were engaging and the passion in their music was apparent. In March they will be playing a handful of shows during SXSW in Austin. This excites me because those performances align well with their March 6 release of their full length album, Strange Land.
Our first listen to their song off the record “Marathon Runner,” is lyrically and musically sharp. Thanks to SPIN you can listen or download it!
